LIGGINS, Norman Joseph
General Notes:
Ruth and Norman had three sons - Russell, Denis and Graeme.
Graeme married Linda Borlase in 1973 and they purchased the property in 1974, whereupon Ruth and Norm moved to Levin.
They, with their children Angela and Matthew, are still farming the same farm but have since built a new house on Karaka Street, opposite where the homestead was.
It is interesting to note that originally Joseph Liggins had five farms in Tokomaru, all of which employed sharemilkers, as well as the farm later owned by George Smith up Albert Road. Sharemilking names of the past are: Robert White, George Williams, Colin Williams, Doug Gardiner, Mr Brown, Bill Cooksley, Keith Voss, C. Foster, Jim Richfield, Alan Thompson, Mr Veysey, Mr McDonald, L. Drinkwater.
